This is our own comprehensive, searchable database of cemeteries in South Australia. To search for details about any of these cemeteries, select Cemetery name or location from the form's drop-down-list and enter the locality, nearest town, or Adelaide suburb.
Note that there are several categories of geolocation. If there is no prefix or suffix displayed, the location is considered to be accurate. If the latitude is prefixed by ≈, the location is approximately correct. If prefixed by ~, the cemetery is in this vicinity. In closely settled areas this means probably within 500 m; in remote areas, 20 km. Finally, if the longitude is suffixed by ?, the location may be accurate but it has not been confirmed.
Links to any external website burial data are included.
The database also has a full listing of the burials at several cemeteries. The earliest burials at Adelaide's West Terrace Cemetery including those not in their own database (their official records prior to mid 1840 no longer exist), and the earliest burials at Hindmarsh and several other cemeteries are also available. These are especially valuable because the majority of the early headstones have not survived. To carry out a search of these cemeteries, select Deceased person from the drop-down-list, then enter the surname and optionally a given name or the first initial.

This is a comprehensive list of web sites with South Australian cemetery and burial information. It includes links to the online databases of several large Adelaide city and metropolitan cemeteries that need to be searched individually. And it also lists the many, mostly country cemeteries administered by local councils that can be searched individually by following the links or all at once from any council cemetery page by selecting All (statewide).
