The place is usually the last residence, which may not be the death place. If no place is recorded, the registration district may be abbreviated within brackets to give an indication of location. Adelaide is often abbreviated to Ade.
Most of the death records prior to civil registration are from church and cemetery burial registers and headstone inscriptions. If no death date was given, the burial date is used. The burial place is often included.
Married women's maiden names have sometimes been determined.
