Marriage Sources

The major sources of these marriages are the Holy Trinity Church marriage register and the South Australian Marriages Registrations 1842 to 1916, South Australian Genealogy & Heraldry Society, 2001. Other church records, journals and newspapers of the day were also consulted.
Weddings before civil registration commenced and others recorded in church registers but not submitted to the Registrar of Births, Deaths & Marriages are included. Also included, wherever feasible, are the maiden names of previously married women obtained from the South Australian Births Registrations 1842 to 1906, SAGHS, 1997; the Biographical Index of South Australians 1836-1885, SAGHS, 1986; and South Australians 1836-1885, SAGHS, 1990.
